Sitting pretty on the corner of Dingxi and Changning Lus directly opposite the main entrance to Zhongshan Park, the New World Shanghai has recently undergone a wide-ranging overhaul which has seen facilities throughout the hotel revamped.
In addition to a range of new food and beverage outlets, including the multi-cooking station Nong Café and atmospheric ground floor drinks lounge You Bar, the uppermost levels of the building have been converted into a stylish Residence Club. The Residence Club features brand new suites and rooms plus a dedicated ‘Living Room’ lounge area with 270 degree views across Zhongshan Park and Changning district.
Flooded with natural light from the floor-to-ceiling windows on three walls, the Living Room, as the name suggests, is a relaxed, homey space with an exclusive food and drinks section where you can choose to take your meals instead of at the main dining outlets, and a large lounge area filled with comfy sofas. In addition to free newspapers, wifi access and board games such as backgammon, there is also a full pool table at one end to keep you entertained.
Combined with the remodelled rooms and suites, plus the outdoor swimming pool which is one of the best in town to escape the crowds, the revamped facilities on offer at the New World mean there’s very little reason to leave.
