With the rapid expansion of Shanghai’s craft beer market in recent years, Kaiba isn’t quite the stand-out option it once was, but the Belgian-influenced bar chain’s three branches around town still do a good trade thanks to a reliable selection of imported beers on tap and in bottles (from 30RMB), plus regular tap takeovers from China-based and overseas breweries. And their ‘Kegs ‘n’ eggs’ deal – which includes the option to go free-flow on a range of beers – is still one of our favourite weekend brunches.
